  • SLAM

    Building upon decades of worldwide university research NTR developed unique software for precise indoor navigation in rough conditions with no GPS or light. Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is the only way to make a drone fly autonomously in a completely new, unknown, GPS-denied environment. The main challenge was to create a system that would be able to not only build a map based on data from sensors, but also to process it quickly enough to maintain the drone’s current location on a map. We achieved this by developing a “2.5D” solution that merges 2D data from lidar with 3D data from a stereo camera.

  • Set Of Sensors

    With a very limited payload, putting the right sensors into the navigation set is not easy, but we found the perfect balance between navigation accuracy and take-off weight. The basic set consists of 2D lidar, rangefinders, IMU, and a stereo camera.

  • Photo-shooting Payload

    Drone/robotic technologies are particularly important for use in dangerous, hard-to-reach-places, especially when there is no light and no human to guide it through the darkness. Synchronizing and linking together a global-shutter camera and ultra-bright flashlight allows the drone to take quality pictures, with minimum movement distortions.

  • Obstacle Avoidance and Advanced Routing

    Our software is trained and tested to autonomously navigate and avoid obstacles in complex environments, without GPS or light. Advanced mapping capabilities make sure that the complete surface of, for example, an oil tank, can be covered by high-quality imagery.
